What's On at the Palace Cinema

Our next film suggestions are shown below:

The Incomer

The Incomer

Tuesday 29 September at 4.00 pm

Director:  Louis Paxton

Cast includes: Domhnall Gleeson, Gayle Rankin, Grant O'Rourke, Michelle Gomez and John Hannah

1 hour and 42 minutes

Described as "a warm and witty comedy of oddballs refusing to leave their harsh isolated life on a remote Scottish island"

Apparently, it is one for fans of "The Banshees of Inisherin".  That film sounded so sad I refused to go and see it.  Several members of the group thoroughly enjoyed it though.

Pressure

Presure

Tuesday 6 October at 4.00 pm

This has been strongly recommended to me and it is described as "a tense historical thriller about weather, warfare and the burden of responsibility".  Set in the 72 hours in the lead up to D-Day.

However, it is really not my sort of film But please do report back if you see the film.

Sense and Sensibility

Sense and Sensibility

Friday 16 October at 4.00 pm

Director:  Georgia Oakley

Starring: Daisy Edgar-Jones (from Normal People and When the Crawdads Sing) and Esme Creed-Miles

2 hours 11 minutes

I can't wait!!

I'm sure you all know the story so no further waffle from me.  This is the first screening at the Palace so probably best to book.

The Weight

The Weight

I'm never afraid of using a cliche so 'now for something completely different.'

Friday 23rd October at 4.30 pm

Director: Padraic McKinley

Starring: Ethan Hawke and Russell Crowe

1 hour 53 minutes

It's an adventure with a corrupt prison governor, stolen gold, a dangerous crew of prisoners and an estranged child.  Set in the treacherous Appalachian forests.

Digger
