Thanet

**Groups seeking new members**

There are vacancies in the Biography group which meets from 2pm to 4pm on the last Wednesday of each month in a private home. Each member researches a person who has a connection with Thanet, however tenuous, and then presents their chosen person to the group.

There are a couple of vacancies for instrumentalists/singers in the Playing for Pleasure group. The group meets in a private home in Cliftonville on the first Tuesday of the month from 11am.

Deborah Harrington runs our Bookshare group. The group meets at 2pm on the second Wednesday of the month at a private home in Westgate. Members discuss books they have read and loved or possibly not liked so much.

Front Room Films group would also welcome new members. The group meets fortnightly by Zoom at 6.00pm to discuss a film which is available on BBC iPlayer. The film is watched before the meeting and members research aspects of each film in advance of the meeting. The last three films have been ‘Rosalie’, ‘Red Dust’ and ‘Brief History of a Family’ - each well worth watching and each provoking a very lively discussion.

The Modern Art Appreciation group also has vacancies. The group meets in a private venue in Cliftonville on the third Tuesday of each month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

If you are interested in joining any of the above groups, please contact our groups organizer, for further details at groups@thanetu3a.org.uk
