Thanet

Walking for Fitness or Fundraising or both.

Monday 20th April @ 10:30. Stodmarsh. Leaving from the public car park at Grove Ferry. The route is flat, approximately 4.6 miles and takes in some of the Nature Reserve.

This is the first walk of two (more) this month organised by Tony Hards, the leader of our walking group, to support the twin objectives of Graham and Lorraine Burns' 500/500more  Fitness and Fundraising challenge for Breast Cancer Now.

The final walk takes place the following week:

Tuesday 28th April @ 14:00 Pegwell Bay. Leaving from Ramsgate Boating Pool and down to Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve . The route is slightly hilly with some uneven patches of ground. The route is approximately 4.7 miles.

Please contact Tony on *** if you would like to join one or both of the walks.

(For those members who are not on Facebook, Tony’s ‘fantastic group of u3a walkers’ was flagged up on the Breast Cancer Now mid-point social media post. Publicity of this kind raises the profile of our organisation within our local community and this is invaluable. Thank you to those Thanet u3a members who have walked with Tony so far. If you do take part in this April challenge, why not join us at the finish of the challenge on Thursday, 30th April at 4pm at Broadstairs Bandstand? Tony’s walkers have added 48 miles to the /500more already and the Comms Team Collective has walked 87 miles , so Thanet u3a members (and friends) have now added 135 miles to the challenge in total.)
